Visitors with disabilities
The Procession of the Holy Blood is an event for everyone. We place great importance on inclusion and accessibility, and offer various support and assistance options to help you experience this historic event to the fullest.
Facilities
Do you need assistance? We provide five zones with facilities specifically for visitors with disabilities and their companion(s): Hauwerstraat, Steenstraat, Noordzandstraat, Markt, and Dijver.
The zones are equipped with a number of facilities, such as accessible toilets. There are standing places everywhere, sometimes there are also seats by reservation. In addition, two locations are available for visitors with disabilities who require assistance (reservation required).
For safety reasons, wheelchair users (with the option of transferring to a seat) can only reserve seats in the Markt zone (stand Y and care zone W), the Dijver zone, and the Hauwerstraat zone. There are no seats in the Noordzandstraat zone. People with disabilities can also request assistance in other zones, apart from those where we offer specific facilities.
If you reserve a seat in one of the two care zones, our staff will contact you personally to discuss your assistance needs. You can request assistance for the following:
- picking up at the nearest bus stop;
- picking up from a nearby ‘drop zone’;
- assistance to the toilet.
